Sport Pilot Aeronautical Experience Requirements

Thinking of training for a Sport Pilot’s license?

No doubt you have many questions that need to be answered. For
most potential students it’s hard to even know what questions to ask.

Here are some common questions that students have:

Is flight training safe?

You actually have a higher chance of getting hurt in a car accident on
the way to the airport than you do flying. All sport pilot training is
done in a 2008 Apollo Fox equipped with a ballistic parachute for
added safety.

When will I be able to solo?

We are not teaching you to solo; we are teaching you to fly the
airplane in a safe and consistent manner. Everyone is different, but
the average is 10-15 hours.

What can I do with a sport pilot license?

A Sport Pilot license allows you to fly a two seat aircraft capable of
going up to 138 MPH. You can take a passenger along for a ride or
use it for travel. The possibilities are endless.

How much will it cost?

This can vary quite a bit depending on where you do your training and
on your learning style. The number of training hours, and in turn
cost,  depends on the student. Some students are ready for the flight
test in 25 hours and others 35 hours, everyone is different.
